Meaning Color is crucial to a main part of all movies as it can tell stories, show emotion, and create the overall visual aesthetic. Examples Mood/Atmosphere- Colors can start certain emotions and moods. Color pallets establish atmospheres of the whole story and film. As an example, red and orange colors might provoke a feeling of warmth. Characterization- A color can start a story or introduce a character. Such as goldish yellowish lighting behind a hero to show they are important and glorified. Symbolism- Can show change throughout the movie between the color scheme. Such as a Character usually being surrounded by darker colors to then lighter colors by the end of film to show change such as them becoming better in some way. Visual Cohesion- Color Schemes can make the screen look better for viewers while adjusting lighting and other needed visuals. This can be also done for cues to know something is happening.
