 Story development in film

• Picked film is "Sing"(2016)

Overall Story

• Is about the startup of a musical theater in which problems are faced gathering performers, making the physical theater, and physical character development.
• All these problems are soon solved with the characters/performers getting over their own personality issues in which they perform and solve the theaters own problems.
• I would like to explain each character's story.

Character stories

Buster Moon

• Koala wanting to live out his own dream of owning a Theater.
• His personality is a charismatic and ambitious owner that sticks to his own determination and optimism.
• Lesson learned was to trust himself and those around him in which to not keep things to himself.

Rosita

• Pig wanting to become a singer.
• Is a mother of many piglets in which wants to not only supply for them but do it whilst living through her passion as balancing between the dream and motherhood.
• Lesson Learned was to not focus on societal norms and to break out and do what she feels comfortable.

Ash

• Porcupine wanting to become singer through others doubts.
• She used to perform with her used to be boyfriend in which after the breakup she took it as a way to prove him wrong by becoming a professional singer.
• Lesson Learned was to try not to impress others and focus on your dreams.

Meena

• Elephant wanting to become a singer.
• Is a shy character that struggles with performing Infront of others even though full support is given from family.
• Lesson Learned is to trust in herself.

Mike

• Mouse wanting to be famous.
• Mike has a smooth and confident feel but still tries many con artist schemes in which get himself in trouble.
• Lesson Learned is to be honest with others to avoid humiliation.

Johnny

• Gorilla wanting to be a singer.
• Has family issues in which his dad wants him to follow his same footsteps as a criminal even tough Johnny is passionate about it, he cannot decide which to choose because if he chooses singing then he might lose a relationship with his dad.
• Learns to follow his own dreams without letting others wants for him decide what he does

Conclusion

• The characters stories combine as a major piece in the movies own story as which each one has their own lesson to learn. The characters also have real world problems in which make them more relatable to the audience. Therefore, the character story provides a important part to any film and without it would not be as successful. This helps develop my own characters when creating the full story.
